Broad Peak (8,051m), standing directly across from K2 at the head of the Godwin-Austen Glacier, is one of the most magnificent 8,000-meter objectives in the world. Ascended via the classic West Ridge, it presents sustained snow and rock climbing up steep couloirs, high camps perched above Concordia, and an exhilarating traverse along the summit ridge to the true high point.
