We are not a travel agency operating from a distant city. We are native mountaineers, expedition leaders, and porters from the historic village of Askole in Baltistan.
In the geography of the Karakoram, Askole occupies legendary status. It is the final inhabited settlement of the Shigar Valley. Beyond Askole, the dirt jeep track abruptly ends; ahead lies only the roaring Braldu River gorge, the massive 63-kilometer tongue of the Baltoro Glacier, and the crown peaks of high Asia: K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I to IV, and the Trango Towers.
For generations, every international climbing expedition to the Karakoram giants has hired its porters, gathered its mountain logistics, and staged its departure from our stone-walled village alleys. The mountains are our ancestral backyard.
By booking with Askole Expeditions, you support native high-altitude porters and climbing guides directly, ensuring fair wages and authentic mountain leadership.
Operated, managed, and led by mountaineers born and raised in Askole and Skardu.
Fully registered with Central Karakoram National Park, Department of Tourist Services, and Alpine Club.
Direct communication with your actual base camp logistics directors and lead climbing guides.
Leading expeditions in the Karakoram requires more than route knowledge; it demands rigorous safety protocols and environmental ethics:
